Going East
I received an information packet in the mail today from Nature’s Classroom. I will be working in Andover, CT from March to June, with the possibility of extending for the summer teaching environmental education to kids. I received a phone call on Friday when they gave me a choice of locations because they have several schools around New England. I picked blindly, well not entirely, because I thought I would be closer to people I know in Connecticut, namely Andrea. Anyhow, I thought my starting date would be on the papers I received in the mail, but it isn’t clear. So I’ll have to call again tomorrow to ask. I neglected to ask in the first place because certain people (including my mother) tell me I have too many questions, and I thought it would be in the written material. Regardless, I’ll probably be driving across the country at the end of this month. Anyone up for a road trip?
And my first invitation to a graduate weekend came via email today from the University of Florida. It looked exciting until I started investigating flight possibilities. The Department of Zoology said they’ll give me $250 to defray travel costs, but a flight from Spokane to Gainesville shows up as $978 for that weekend in February. Sheesh. Can I handle this?
