Ablutions in a Public Restroom

I walked into the women’s bathroom before leaving work this afternoon and wondered why I heard paper towel after paper towel being torn off while I was in the stall. I came out and noticed a young woman with her head covered beginning to wash her face and arms in what must have been ablutions for the 5:00 prayer. I was used to seeing the process in outdoor markets as I stepped over and around the people performing the ablutions. They would perch at the edge of the street in flip-flops with their little plastic teapot creating a trickle of water that ran into the gutter. How odd it seemed to see this process done in a sink, though I was curious if she was going to take off her tennis shoes and do her feet.
